All Breedlove guitars have tops that are voiced both before and after the braces are applied. Breedlove utilizes a modern, patented bridge truss device that counterbalances the string tension on the top of the guitar. The increased structural integrity of the bridge truss braces the tops for optimal vibration and sound quality and creates what Breedlove calls a "relaxed top." The result is a responsive guitar with rich bass, balanced mids, sweet highs, and a remarkable balance of sound when playing notes up the fingerboard.

Breedlove designed their pegheads so that the strings between the tuners and the nut are parallel to the rest of the string. This is because Breedlove believes that if the strings pass over the nut and then angle sharply towards the tuner posts, there is added dampening, which causes loss in sustain.
